RAWALPINDI: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) observed its “20th Raising Day” with full zeal and enthusiasm at ANF Headquarters on Sunday.
The event included a wreath-laying ceremony for the martyrs and Annual Performance Award Ceremony of year 2015. Former DGs of ANF, diplomats, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) representatives as well as serving and retired ANF employees attended the ceremony.
The day started with tributes to the ANF martyrs. The ceremony was attended by the next of kins of the martyrs, ANF officers and officials as well as all invitees. The participants paid rich tributes to the martyrs and offered special prayers for them.
Later, Raising Day Celebrations commenced with a “Welcome Address” by ANF DG Major General Nasir Dilawar Shah. He thanked all participants and apprised them about the performance of the force, especially achievement of 2015. Second DG of ANF, Lieutenant General (r) Mushtaq Hussain graced the occasion as chief guest. He appreciated the continued efforts made by the force since its inception. Addressing the gathering he emphasised that ANF should keep up as a firm, righteous and lawful force. In view of the drug threat scenario, he called for undertaking unified efforts and modernisation of the force.
The ANF Raising Day has a unique significance of providing a forum for serving and former employees, all stakeholders and associated sectors. Additionally, it also provides an opportunity to acknowledge best performances and communicate mutual obligations.
