MUZAFFARABAD: A spokesperson for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir has demanded of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down following Panama leaks scandal. The AJK government spokesperson and Information Minister Abid Hussain Abid said, “Now the prime minister should resign from his office immediately as he has lost the confidence of the masses and it is moral obligation on him the step down”. He said that because of the international scandal, prime ministers and leaders of other countries have shown courage and quit their offices. He said that as many as 12 key leaders have withdrawn from their posts so far which include the leaders of Iceland, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Spain and Germany asking PM Nawaz to follow suit and quit the office. He said, “The Panama leaks cannot be swept under the carpet and it has adversely affected reputation of the PML-N in AJK. This has triggered grave concern among the people of AJK”. He claimed, “The PML-N will have to suffer crushing defeat in the upcoming elections in AJK due to the Panama leaks issue”.
