Oppostion Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz strongly condemned the arrest the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Ashiana Housing scam on Friday.
“The PML-N leaders are arrested before every election and once again the party’s presdient is arrested just ahead of the by-elections,” Hamza said after chairing a meeting of the party’s leadership. The meeting was held to delibrate on the latest situation following the arrest of the former Punjab chief minister..
“Shehbaz was arrested to give the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) a fake mandate in the upcoming by-polls,” he said. “I have talked to Nawaz Sharif and a requisition to call the National Assembly session has been submitted on his directives,” he added. He was of the view that Supreme Court had announced its verdict regarding the corruption in Nandipur power project but the anti-graft body was yet to make any arrest.
